Eagle America Filter-A-FanAmbient air filtration units are gaining popularity in woodworking shops, but adding one to your workspace can cost several hundred dollars or more. Eagle America's new Filter-A-Fan provides a more economical alternative. It consists of a plastic framework that replaces a box fan grate. The frame accepts a 16 x 16-in. furnace filter, which slides into place. Then, depending on the type and quality of filter you choose, you can determine the size of particulate you want captured from the air. Installation is as easy as removing the screws that hold the fan's grate in place and replacing it with the Filter-A-Fan framework. Eagle America offers a package consisting of both the framework and a box fan for $64.98, or you can purchase the framework alone for $29.99 and retrofit it to a fan you already have.
