In the spirit of saying goodbye to the old year and hello to the new, we recently posed the question to the Woodworker's Journal Facebook community: "Perhaps one of the most important woodworking assessments: what tool did you use the most in your shop this year?" Here's what we heard.
It ranges from the standard:
"Table saw, without a doubt." - Ed D.
"Sliding table saw." - Bob S.
"Track saw." - Paul B.
"Radial arm saw."- Roger W.
To the turning contingent:
"Table saw and lathe; they feed each other."- Mike D.
"JET 1642 lathe." - Dallas P.
"NOVA DVR XP lathe." - Chris B.
To the shop accessories:
"Ruler." - Dan V.
"Combination square." - Oscar A.
"Tape measure, followed by table saw and router about equally." - Bill R.
"Tape measure and cordless drill/driver." - Gary R.
To the shop amenities:
"The stereo, followed by a tape measure & table saw." - Jim M.
"Stereo, tape measure, band saw, sander." -V. Ruth R.
"Coffee can." - Rich W.
To the metaphorical:
"My brain. Too much thinking and planning, not enough doing." - Joao M.
