It’s hard to imagine a correlation between fingernail polish, World War II and high quality woodworking finishing products, but that’s how Briwax International got its start. I recently spoke with JaLea Himes, Vice President of Sales and Operations of the company’s North American Division, who put the pieces of that puzzle together for me and provided an overview of Briwax’s unique history.
I have made some kitchen cabinets, and the doors are made of poplar frame with paneling in the middle.  They are so bowed it is heartbreaking. How can I remedy this? Any suggestions will be gladly appreciated.
I have a fair amount of aged oak timbers that are about 2x12 rough and full cut. They would make great tabletops, good stuff. What would you recommend to rip them? Your time and expert opinion will be appreciated.
My question is this: what grit is "A" grade ply sanded to from the factory? I have often wondered which grit to start with, fearing, of course, that I might inadvertently sand through the ever increasingly thin top veneer. I have asked lumber retailers that question, and no one seems to know. I hope you can shed a little light.
