Can't Find Leftools
"Being a lefty myself, the piece about the left-handed tools fascinated me. However, when I tried the URL included in the article, I got a 'page can not be displayed' error message. What gives?" Stan DeSyde

Sorry, that's our fault. We printed http://www.lefttools.com as the web URL. It is actually www.leftools.com with only one 't.' Editor

"I just went and tried that one, and it doesn't work either." Stan DeSyde

It works fine for us. It's probably your computer. When was the last time you cleaned it? Try putting it in the dishwasher on the "potscrubber" cycle to get some of the dirt out of the motherboard. Editor

Catering to the Minority
"I think it is awful the way you cater to minorities in this magazine. You pointed out right at the top of the article about Leftools that only ten percent of the population is left-handed, yet you showcased a company that is clearly only of interest to them. This is America, where the majority rules; people like that should go back where they came from." Chava Falafel

Apparently, our view of what is American is a bit different, and we are not alone. Read on. Editor

"Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am so grateful for your having introduced us to Leftools. I am a lefty, and like Charles and Treston, have always felt that the world tends to overlook us just a bit. Knowing there is a place I can get hand tools that really work for me is a real blessing." Raquel Fromage

Cherishing Wood
"This is not about something in the last issue, but I just had to air a gripe. It really frosts my juevos when people waste wood, especially rare wood. We should conserve it and use every bit we cut. Besides, it costs money, and like I tell my employees, it doesn't grow on trees!" Tim Burr

Not to put too fine a point on it, Tim, but in fact, wood does grow on trees. Of course, that's no reason to be wasteful, but we thought you should know. Editor

Let Nature Take its Course
"You folks missed a good teaching opportunity with that question about preventing wood from fading or getting darker with sun exposure. That process is organic, and to fiddle with chemistry to change it flies in the face of nature. You should have told that reader to stop complaining and accept the way things are supposed to be. It horrifies me to see people constantly trying to change such things." Claire DeLune

We agree. All our woodworking is done on natural, organic table saws, jointers, planers, band saw, and routers. Editor

The Right Stuff?
"I hate to have to be the one to break it to Mr. Frapples, but I suspect someone was selling him a bill of goods as far as his exotic wood is concerned. Maybe it is just the way they were photographed, but those toilet paper spindles did not look at all like the woods they were purported to be. I think someone conned him and sold him inferior wood under the guise of exotics. That could be one reason the spindle business failed." Amanda Cairforre

We suspected as much ourselves, but as you pointed out, it is so hard to tell from an online photo. However, we will pass your comments along to Bob, though I suppose it is too late to be much help. He has definitely moved on. Editor

Type Corner
Just because today is April first is no reason to abandon our ever popular typo corner. Here, for your listening pleasure, is today's offering. Editor

"I would appreciate any comets or advise."

We can offer advice, but no advise. As for comets, you may have to wait until 2062. That's when the comet named for Edmond Halley is scheduled to make its next appearance. Editor
