Cordless
right-angle drill/drivers have been around for some time, but
Bosch
has added several industry-first features to their new 12-volt
Lithium-ion
PS11. It is the only tool in its class to include two LED
lights mounted in the tool's articulating head to brighten dark
workspaces. Also new to this driver category is a three-jaw auto
lock chuck with 3/8-in. capacity that will grip either drill or
driver bits. It swivels to five different positions from 90 to 180
degrees. Bosch says the new PS11 is "significantly faster than
the current competition," with a variable-speed motor that spins
the chuck from zero to 1,300 rpm. The tool's compact size, 2.75-lb.
overall weight and soft grip handle should all be helpful details for
working in confined spaces and corners. It offers 115 in.-lbs. of
maximum torque. A built-in fuel gauge will inform you how soon the
battery will need a recharge, but the drill/driver comes with a spare
battery and a charger that refreshes them in 30 minutes. The kit
(PS11-2A) costs around $149. You can also buy the drill/driver alone as
model PS11B, but pricing has not yet been made available for this
option.
