This was assembled from a 48x16" piece of scrap 1/2" plywood from the odds & ends bin at Home Depot ($0.51).  The white trim accents are scrap maple from another project.  The box is clad with 1/8"  Padauk purchased online for $25/2 sq. ft.  Hinge, clasp, and support arm (total approx. $10) also found online.  Finish is blonde waxed shellac and beeswax, polished.
