You may know Gorilla Glue as a supplier of polyurethane adhesive, but the company also makes a one-part water-based polyvinyl acetate (PVA) formula called Gorilla Wood Glue, for making general wood-to-wood glue bonds. It requires a clamping time of just 20 minutes and fully cures in 24 hours.

The product, which has been available for several years now, is nontoxic, solvent-free and, according to the company, offers a higher bond strength and lower application temperature (as low as 55 degrees Fahrenheit) than other comparable woodworking glues. It's also non-foaming and has no dyes, so it dries to a natural color that resists yellowing. Gorilla Wood Glue passes ANSI Type II water-resistance specifications, so it's suitable for both interior and exterior use. It cleans up easily with soap and water. You can find it at many home centers, lumberyards and other retailers in both 8 ounce ($3.99) and 18 ounce ($6.99) bottles.
