MultiMaxSome shop tools are “one-hit wonders” that only come out for specific tasks. But, that’s not true of the Multi-Max Oscillating Tool System from Dremel. Here’s a compact, yet full-featured, multi-tasking tool. It’s designed to take on a wide variety of tasks from sanding and cutting to scraping and grinding, by simply changing accessories. This degree of versatility is due in part to the tool’s head, which moves from side to side at high speeds in three-degree arcs. Multi-Max has a variable-speed, 1.5-amp motor that produces 10,000 to 21,000 oscillations per minute.

A soft-start feature minimizes abrupt starts, and electronic feedback provides consistent speed through even the toughest applications. An overmolded ergonomic grip makes extended use more comfortable. The Multi-Max also sports a Quick Fit™ system, which makes it fast and easy to switch between 12 different accessories, such as a scraper blade, flush-cut blade, 3-in. wood and drywall blade or a hook-and-loop sanding pad. Multi-Max is offered in two different kits ($99 or $139), which contain a variety of sanding, cutting and scraping accessories and a storage case.
