In our last eZine, there was a discussion highlighted in the WebSurfers Review section on finishing options for a desk being made from loblolly pine. This reader had an additional suggestion. – Editor

"Rob;  I thank you again for the most interesting eZine.  I have a suggestion/question regarding the Loblolly Pine situation. why could one not make the desk/whatever, and then use a similar wood (harder pine) for the writing surface?  The next suggestion would be to take a similar or contrasting wood and cut a veneer (1/4" to 1/8") with a band saw and place it on top of these boards." - Lynn B. Barlow.
