One seldom has enough clamps around the shop for a major glue-up. If the surfaces are wide it's difficult to get the clamping pressure where needed. For years I've kept 25-pound bags of shotgun pellets around the shop to use as auxiliary clamps. They are particularly useful when gluing curved laminations or other situations where conventional clamps can't reach. - Richard Luntz, Custer, South Dakota
