Recently I came across a video on Youtube about turning flowers on the lathe.  The guy stated that the project came from an old magazine,  so he demonstrated it on the video.  I saw it and turned my own.

I turned the flowers out of different exotic and domestic hardwoods. Then turned the interior Bulbs from other different hardwoods. The vase was my own turning,  it was done from a piece of Kiln dried Alabama Pecan that my father and I cut on our sawmill about three to four years ago.  The reason for making this little project was a Valentines gift for my fiancee,  I know women love flowers on that holiday, the only thing is that even though the flowers are pretty, they die a couple days later, hence this little project,  Now she has flowers that will always be in bloom.
