Woodsy Gift Ideas

In
the last eZine, Rob asked for your ideas for quick gifts for that
other gift-giving season: the one filled with weddings, graduations,
and more. We heard a woodworking gift suggestion from a teacher who
has been invited to enough graduation parties to learn the
gift-giving lesson well. - Editor
"I
am a high school teacher. I get invitations to graduation parties,
and am expected to give gifts to the graduates. I wanted to do
something different than giving money, and more lasting. I discovered
cards from the Arbor Day Foundation that notify the recipient that a
tree has been planted in their name in a national forest. These have
been well received. They also have tree kits to give as gifts, so the
recipient can plant the tree wherever they want and watch it grow.
These help insure there will always be wood to work. Now, for summer
break, when I won't be spending every minute preparing lessons and
grading papers, and might get to do some woodworking myself! Thanks
for great magazines (I also subscribe to the hardcopy magazine)!"
