In "Circular Saws: A Woodworker's Secret Weapon," June 2007, I demonstrated how useful an accurately guided circular saw can be in a fine woodworking environment. And it stands to reason that an ultra-accurate guiding system and a more sophisticated circular saw would be an even better tool in a woodworker's arsenal. The Festool plunge-cutting circular, guided by their guide rail system, is the proof positive of that concept. Furthermore, if you join their superior dust extraction system to the equation, you easily see the advantages Festool's focus on engineering brings to the table. It also brings a hefty price tag as well. If you are interested in learning more about the Festool system, there are some great videos on their web site: http://www.festoolusa.com
