Cleaning off Wood Cabinets

What type of cleaners are available to clean wooden kitchen cabinets? I have old pine cabinets finished with clear lacquer. The areas around the latches and corners are getting darker from the daily use, and cleaners like Fantastick® and Pledge® do not remove the grease.

John Brock: My wife uses a little Soft Scrub® on a damp wash rag. I use a little naphtha on a rag, and then a little old-fashioned paste wax to bring the shine back.

Kevin Hancock: I would wash the cabinets with VM&P naphtha. A fine gray Scotchbrite ® pad will help loosen tough dirt. A milder and effective cleaner that also may work is Murphy Oil Soap®.
