As a way of saying thank you to its customers for 30 years of business, Grizzly Industrial is offering two limited-edition band saws in black, a big departure from its usual green or white color schemes. The first model is Grizzly’s G0513ANV 17-in. Band Saw. Powered by a 2hp TEFC motor and wired for 220 volts, the saw will resaw up to 12-1/8-in.-thick material and offers 16-1/4-in. of horizontal capacity from blade to throat. Its 17 x 17-in. cast-iron table is equipped with an extruded aluminum fence and a full-size miter gauge. The saw can accept blades ranging from 1/8- to 1-in. wide, and a 1/2-in. blade comes standard. Overall blade length is 131-1/2-in. Roller disk blade guides above and below the table will keep blades tracking properly, while a blade tracking window and tension indicator should help to make adjustments easier. When sawing is finished, there’s also a quick release lever to de-tension the blade. The internal flywheels are computer-balanced cast aluminum, and Grizzly provides two 4-in. dust ports to help minimize sawdust build-up inside the machine. A one-year warranty protects the G0513ANV, which is available to purchase now for $795, plus shipping.
In June, Grizzly will launch a second anniversary saw, the 14-in. model G0555LANV. This machine will have a 1hp motor wired for 110 volts. Its cast-iron frame and 14- x 14-in. table will allow resawing up to 6-in. material or cutting workpieces up to 13-1/2-in. left of the blade. Ball-bearing blade guides above and below the table, and cast-iron flywheels, will accommodate 93-1/2-in. blades ranging from 1/8- to 3/4-in. wide. A 3/8-in. blade comes with the saw. Other standard features are to include an aluminum T-shaped rip fence, full-size miter gauge and a quick-release blade tension lever. One 4-in. dust port below the table will help channel debris away. A riser block kit will be available as an accessory. Grizzly will also back the G0555LANV with a 1-year warranty. It will sell for $445, plus shipping.
