Makita Buy One/Get One: How Many Tools Was That, Again?

As do most power tool companies these days, Makita has a line of tools powered by the Lithium-Ion battery technology that allows big power but smaller tools. In Makita’s case, it’s called the LXT line, and it incorporates 35 tools that will run off the 18-volt lithium-ion battery.

Right now, buying certain drill-drivers or impact drivers among those 35 tools, or specific combo kits, will also get you an additional tool from the line – free, with a mail-in rebate. So, for example, if you buy the LXT 218 combo kit, which includes a one-half-inch hammer driver-drill and an impact driver and sells for $347, you could get a BSS611Z six and one-half-inch circular saw, which would normally cost you about $90, for free – after you mail in the paperwork.

Makita’s calling this their “Feel Innovation Program 2009.”  It has some specific requirements about which tool purchases “earn” you which tools free, and it’s only scheduled to be in place through June 30. Check which tools are partnered with which freebies at www.makitatools.com.
