What type of wood would you recommend for outdoor crafts?
Carol Reed: It depends on the ‘craft’ and the finish you intend to use. For outdoor furniture, I’d choose redwood, teak, or cedar and use no finish.
Michael Dresdner: I’d add mahogany, and ipe to that “you can leave it unfinished” list, and point out that Carol is probably talking about western red cedar, not the eastern “aromatic” cedar or South American Spanish cedar.
