Our hobby box utilizes
some clever new hardware to solve the problem of keeping all your supplies
in one place. Designed along the familiar lines of a fishing tackle box,
the main tray is long enough to store items such as paint brushes or knitting
needles. The two smaller trays are perfect for paint tubes, sewing needles
and so on. There also is an area below the main tray that's big enough
to store art pads, notebooks or other larger supplies.
An available hardware
kit includes a piano hinge, the three-tray support kit with screws, a
half mortise chest lock with two keys, connector bolts and cap nuts.
Having the grain wrap
all the way around a box seems like an impossible trick, right? Not so.
This plan will show you how to achieve the impossible and build a great
gift box.
The secret to wrapping
grain around all four sides of a box is... explained in detail in this
wonderful plan. With splined, mitered corners and a simple rabbeted lid,
this elegant box makes a sensational gift and a great conversation piece.
Plan includes ten detailed illustrations.

With a little setup
you can build as many of these great gifts as you like, each one designed
to safely store and display a family's most treasured photos.
The key to this plan
is a scroll sawed hardboard template for the lid. Once that's completed,
you can rout piece after piece and they'll all be absolutely identical.
The sides are made of a single molding designed to look like a built-up
assembly, and the interior is divided into four sections with a pair of
half-lapped dividers. Finish off the inside with a coat of velvet flocking
(all instructions included). A wonderful gift!
