This project plan appeared in Woodworker's Journal Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 37. Jan/Feb 1987.We discovered this wonderful blanket chest at the Hancock Shaker Village in
Massachusetts. It incorporates so much of Shaker philosophy - clean, simple
lines, a high degree of utility and superb construction methods - that we just
had to offer it as a plan. If you enjoy hand-cutting dovetails, this project
offers ample opportunity to practice the art. You could, of course, use a router
and a jig, but that wouldn't quite be the same, would it?
