This project plan appeared in Woodworker's Journal Volume 18, Issue 5, Page 52. Sep/Oct 1994. This is a modified butcherblock (edge-glued, no end grain facing up) cutting
board with a knife drawer below, executed in hard and curly maple. The joinery
includes fairly simple tongue and rabbet joints, so it's well within the abilities
of anyone with access to a table saw. This is a superb gift for your favorite
cook: check out their knife collection and modify the plan accordingly.
