Painted poplar and clear pine are the materials of choice for this incredibly useful piece of furniture. Use it as a sideboard, in the hall, behind the sofa or even as a desk. There are two large drawers for storage and a wide shelf below. Outside of the dovetails in the drawers (and you can choose a different joint if you prefer), the joinery here is rudimentary. This is a well written and illustrated plan that most woodworkers can handle with ease.
