This project plan appeared in Woodworker's Journal Volume 8, Issue 3, Page 30. May/Jun 1984. These two small cabinets - boxes, really - are assembled with splined miters.
They have plywood backs and glass doors, and they're joined together by a pair
of shelves that are held in place with sliding dovetails. The originals were
built with curly maple and are absolutely stunning. The plan author was lucky
enough to find some bookmatched plywood for the back of the larger cabinet,
adding to the drama.
