This project plan appeared in Woodworker's Journal Volume 9, Issue 1, Page 49. Jan/Feb 1985.A standard miter joint has little strength (after all, you're just gluing exposed
end grain together), but a miter joint reinforced with keyed splines adds both
strength and visual appeal. This jig makes quick work of what looks like a complicated
joint, and reduces it to a routine procedure. You'll never build another box
without thinking seriously about adding keyed splines when you see how easy
it is to do.
