This project plan appeared in Woodworker's Journal Volume 9, Issue 4, Page 44. Jul/Aug 1985.Colonial woodworkers were masters at designing pieces of furniture that saved
space - either by folding up when not in use, or by serving more than one function.
One of the more popular pieces in the vein was a bench that became a dining
table when needed, and was installed along a wall near the fire when dinner
was done. This version, a relatively simple project that pivots on wooden pegs,
is suited to most skill levels.
Approx: 18" x 60" x 29" tall (as a table), or 47" (as a
bench)
