Clamping irregular objects can be tough. Sometimes you just don't have a surface you can get a clamp on. A guitar neck is a great example. The rounded surface on the back of the neck won't allow clamps to grab near the edge. This is a great application for using rubber bands as clamps. On an object as large as a guitar neck, strips of inner tube work even better.
Bicycle inner tubes make great rubber band clamps. Spend a couple of bucks on an inner tube and you can make a hand full of rubber band clamps. Cut across through the inner tube in one spot, and then cut longways to make 1/2-in. wide strips.
Apply glue, and then clamp by stretching the rubber strips tight as you wrap them around the pieces. Complete the clamping by tucking the free end of the strip under a wrapped loop.
