Corded Multi-Max™ Oscillating Tool    Corded Multi-Max™ Oscillating Tool
The Multi-Max™ Oscillating Tool System from Dremel is a compact, yet full-featured multi-tasking tool. It's designed to take on a wide variety of tasks from sanding and cutting to scraping and grinding, by simply changing accessories. This degree of versatility is due, in part, to the tool's head, which moves from side to side at high speeds in 3-degree arcs. Multi-Max has a variable-speed, 1.5-amp motor that produces 10,000 to 21,000 oscillations per minute. A soft-start feature minimizes abrupt starts, and electronic feedback provides consistent speed through even the toughest applications. An over-molded ergonomic grip makes extended use more comfortable. The Multi-Max also sports a Quick Fit™ system, which makes it fast and easy to switch between 12 different accessories, such as a scraper blade, flush-cut blade, 3-in. wood and drywall blade or a hook-and-loop sanding pad. Multi-Max is offered in a kit ($99), which contains a variety of sanding, cutting and scraping accessories and a storage case.

This fall, Dremel extends the convenience of its versatile Multi-Max™ Oscillating Tool by launching a cordless version. Now, you can cut, sand, scrape or grind anywhere you need to, without the need for an outlet nearby. The Cordless Dremel Multi-Max™ is powered by a 12-voltMax Lithium-Ion™ battery, which provides the same level of high performance at all speeds as the corded version. The tool's speed range can be adjusted anywhere between 3,000 and 21,000 oscillations per minute, and a separate On/Off switch allows you to retain the previous speed setting from one use to the next. Soft start and an electric brake make the tool even more convenient to use. An on-board fuel gauge also enables you to monitor the amount of battery charge remaining while you work. The 8300-01 is compatible with all Dremel oscillating accessories and attachments, and it includes the same Quick Fit™ accessory interface as its corded counterpart. The Cordless Multi-Max comes with two interchangeable Lithium-Ion batteries, a one-hour charger and seven accessories, plus a deluxe storage case for $139. You can find it at most hardware stores and home centers.
