The Survey Module Works!

Rob-Portrait351After much monkeying around, trying to analyze data and figure out a cool way to present our first survey results to the eZine faithful, I’ll just skip the fancy stuff and summarize here. As I mentioned last time out, it works, and that’s a big deal on its own.

In the survey, I asked three questions:

1.) Do you read the embedded advertisements? Yup – almost 80% of you do indeed read them (78.8 to be exact.)

2.) Have you ever purchased products you’ve seen featured in the eZine? Yup again – nearly half of you have done so (44.7%). That is a remarkable number and really proves the power of this Internet approach to communicating and advertising.

3.) Approximately how much did you spend on woodworking tools and supplies over the last year? Another surprise! A quarter of you spent over $2,000 last year, and another quarter spent between $1,000 and $2,000. Most of the rest of you (46.4%) spent over $500 on your hobby.

The survey was a test and a successful one at that. I want each of you to know how much I appreciate your visiting our advertisers. They are the biggest reason that I can keep this little Zine coming to you for …you guessed it… FREE. Our advertisers are important business partners in this effort, and I’m glad to see that you’re checking out their sites.

So now, the only question is…. What do you want to know about each other?

Sincerely,

— Rob Johnstone, editor: Woodworker’s Journal
