Two Power Switches Double Your Turning Safety

Two Power Switches Double Your Turning Safety

In my woodworking business, I use a lathe almost every day. It bothered me that there was only one power switch on my lathe, and it was mounted on the left end of the machine. What I’ve done – and we all should do for improved safety – is to install a second power switch on the right end of the lathe.

All you need to do is buy a router table power switch and glue four rare-earth magnets to the back, then plug your lathe into this second power switch. Mount the switch near the tailstock of your machine.

With a switch on both ends, you can shut the tool off quickly with either hand.
