With all of the interest we’ve seen on Chris Marshall’s Ultimate Miter Saw Station, we knew it was only a matter of time until we started getting photos from readers of the ones they built themselves…
Here’s a picture of the Miter saw station I built. I am going to make the drawers later on. I used Birch plywood and Aspen for the face frame, and applied a couple coats of poly. I have a Craftsman 12″ sliding compound miter saw. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on the stand. I just got into the woodworking hobby. I’m a handy man now and hope to become a real woodworker some day.
Thanks for your service to the hobby,

Sometimes being Woodworker’s Journal’s “Field” Editor, I feel like I’m way, way out in some field. What I mean here is, I’m one step removed from the day-to-day feedback we receive in our home office from readers about what we publish. A lot of mail comes in, but generally I don’t get to see it. I work from home, which is several states away.
As I mentioned in a previous post, Milwaukee Electric Tools opened their doors this week to show off what’s new and exciting in power and hand tools. In a very cool venue I might add—Harley Davidson’s Motorcycle Museum in Milwaukee.
Earlier this month I was one of several dozen press people who got a first look at some exciting new tools and accessories coming soon from Bosch. It’s the second year I’ve had the chance to be “in the know” at Bosch headquarters for a very special event they call the Global Leadership Tour.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Due to the enormous amount of interest in this project, we have made the Ultimate Miter Saw Stand (including the plans for the entire project and the optional Scrap Bins, as well as the Cutting List) available as a Downloadable Plan in our online store. Although the month of June is still a couple of calendar flips away, we here at Woodworker’s Journal are more than happy to jump the gun and get Summer 2010 underway! I’m happy to report that your new June print issue is off the presses and in the mail. You should be receiving your copy very shortly. Let’s all get summer on the brain, shall we? Here’s a taste of what’s coming in the new issue:
