Your April Rockler Purchases Will Help Plant Trees

Here’s a cool thing Rockler Woodworking and Hardware is doing for Earth Day this year, but if you haven’t made a Rockler purchase lately, you might not be aware of it.

From now through April 22—Earth Day—Rockler will make a donation to the Hardwood Forestry Fund for every online, catalog and retail purchase made. The company’s goal is to double the number of new trees planted last year on its behalf to 20,000 this year.

The Hardwood Forestry Fund (HFF) will use Rockler’s donation to plant trees in the United States on public lands that are managed by professional foresters. HFF is a not-for-profit educational organization that plants and manages commercially valuable hardwoods, including black cherry, black walnut, red oak, hard maple, hickory and ash, among others. These trees include a management plan as well as a harvest and regeneration schedule.

Here’s a great way to buy the products you need for your projects this month, while also “paying it forward” so that future generations of woodworkers can enjoy the benefits of rich timber forests, too. Here’s an opportunity where everybody wins.

Catch you in the shop,

Chris Marshall, Field Editor
