We have featured the work of students from Springfield High School woodworking teacher George Trout's classes before - but we're just so impressed by the great work they keep turning out that we're doing so again. You can find more of the Pennsylvania youngsters' work in the July/August issue of the print version of Woodworker's Journal (due to hit newsstands and your mailboxes within the next couple of weeks), but for now, here's a taste of what they can do. (Yes, these are all high school students!)

Snakebed: Junior Suzanna Johnson has created a bed from African ribbon, Honduran mahogany and walnut, with a snake motif that many of us would not find restful.

Deerdesk: Senior Eric Shellhase was evidently thinking of the origin of his wood as he created this butternut and Honduran mahogany desk with the tree motif.

Letterdresser: Junior Cliff Bailey combined his talents from woodworking and English class on this butternut and walnut dresser: the outside of each drawer features the first letter of each line of a poem which appears on the drawer spacers.

Pat Ruddy, a senior, formed Honduran mahogany into the sinuous lines of this table.
