Bostitch CPACK2: First in a Combo Series (Not Counting the Compressor)

Over the course of the next few months, Stanley-Bostitch is releasing a series of six nailer/compressor kits. Right now, you could get CPACK2 Two-Tool Kit, which includes a 2-1/2-inch, 16-gauge finish nailer; a 2-inch, 18-gaugue brad nailer; an oil-free compressor; nails and accessories.

(They are not counting the compressor as part of the "two tools": only the nailers – and, in some other kits, the staplers – count. Those other kits contain everything from "one tool" – a brad nailer, or a roofing nailer, or a framing nailer – to "three tools": a finish nailer, a brad nailer and a finish stapler. Some come out in July, some in August, and some in October; by the end of the fall, all six "so-many-tools" kits should be available.)

Right now, though, it's the two-tool kit. And it's ironic that the six-gallon compressor isn't even counted among those two tools. It certainly adds functionality to the kit. With an oil-free pump, an impact-resistant composite shroud around the controls and gauges, and a ball type drain valve, it's got features that make both it and the two "true tools," the nailers, easier to use.

As for those two nailers, the SB-16664BN Finish Nailer can drive finish ails from 1-1/4-inch to 2-1/2-inch. The SB125BN Brad Nailer, in turn, drives 18-gauge brad nails from 5/8-inch to 1-1/4-inch.

Both nailers have features meant to make life easier like dial-in depth control; no-mar tips; and tool-free adjustable exhaust. The finish nailer's nosepiece releases quickly to clear jams.

The cost associated with this easy-to-use CPACK2 is approximately $259. (Costs of future combo packs in the series are projected to range from approximately $199 to approximately $499). You can find more information at www.bostitch.com.
