After watching the video on saving your disk sanders sand disk about using a cork it made me think of another inexpensive way to save it. Here’s another trick to extend your disk, belt or spindle sanders if you have any old dried up tubes of 100% silicone caulk, cut the end off exposing the silicone turn on your disk, belt or spindle sander an apply the dried up silicone to it. Now instead of throwing away that tube of silicone you can use it to clean your sanders. I’ve found that it works very well.
