Jamb Nuts for Threaded Inserts

Jamb Nuts for Threaded Inserts

Instead of using a screwdriver to install threaded brass inserts – which often breaks them – I use an Allen bolt and nut. Thread the nut onto the bolt, and run the bolt through the insert. Tighten the nut against the insert, then just screw the insert into the pilot hole with an Allen wrench. Once the insert is seated at the correct depth, back off the nut and remove the bolt. This little trick works every time.
