Simple Spindle Cutting Jig

Simple Spindle Cutting Jig

When spindle turning I like to make a shallow X shaped kerf cut on one end to make it easier to imbed the spur center. Cut a right angle groove (V shape) in a piece of 2X4. Place it against the band saw fence so the blade hits the bottom of the groove. Use this as a jig for square or octagonal spindles.
