Like so many other woodworkers I save those cutoff pieces that I cannot bear to throw away…with the hopes of finding some sort of use for them someday. Recently, I made a simple clock and installed one of those inexpensive 3″ quartz inserts into the hole and discovered my solution for that massive pile of scraps in the cutoff bin. I ordered a bunch of clock inserts and had some fun…Here are some of the results.
