JET’s new 14” JWBS-14DXPRO Bandsaw is a beefed-up version of this shop basic, with a design meant to handle larger pieces of wood, at higher blade tensions, without the frame deflecting into the wibbly-wobblies.
What’d they do to achieve this function? Well, the newly designed upper and lower frames are both cast-iron for the strength of, well, iron, and the capacity for a greater level of blade tension comes from a new high-tension spring design. With its design, the 14” JWBS has the capacity of cutting boards 12 inches in height and 13-1/2 inches wide.
You can watch that highly tensioned blade through a tracking window, and let it relax with a quick release blade tension. The built-in retractable blade guard moves up and down from 0 to 12 inches resaw.
A new enclosed stand offers you a storage shelf behind the access door, while the saw operates on a two-speed (1,500/3,000 rpm) V-belt drive system. All of this is powered with a 1-1/4 HP motor.
The JWBS-14DXPRO, on which patents are pending, is priced at $979.99. For more information, visit http://woodworking.jettools.com.
