    The magazine article step 4 says “adjust upper blade guide to the width of the board you are resawing”. I do not understand this direction. Aren’t the blade guides supposed to be close to the blade? Or am I reading it wrong?

      It is referring to the blade guard “assembly”. Lower it to almost the top of the wood to help keep the blade correctly aligned in the cut. you would still have the actual guides set in the usual manner that you referenced.
