Lemonade Stand

Lemonade Stand

I started woodworking about 12 years ago after taking classes at our local Vo-Tech and it has now become my passion. I’ve made lots of furniture pieces but one project that has gotten lots of attention is a lemonade stand I made for my grand daughter’s birthday. My grand daughters love to sell lemonade so I decided to make them their very own Pink Lemonade Stand.

I used an old cabinet I got at a garage sale for $1. It had an open shelf at the bottom, so I turned it upside down, painted it white, added bead board to the front, a counter from white MDF and put banding on the edges, handles, and a canopy.

I found the striped sail cloth at the fabric store, made the canopy, then went to the paint store and matched the paint to the fabric, added wheels to the bottom, so they could move it easily out to the street. My son added the step on the front that screws on to make sure it doesn’t tip over. I also made a chalk board for the front and put it on with cup hooks so they could display the price. I painted a 1/4 ” piece of plywood with chalk paint and made a frame for it. I filled the cabinet with cups, straws, sugar, lemons, pitcher etc. and of course a money box. They loved it and every time they take it out to sell lemonade someone wants to know where they can buy one just like it. – Janet Little
