A Cool Operator

Rob-Portrait351This is the time of year when those of us in the northern climes actually have to start figuring out how to cool our workshops down a bit. As I’ve mentioned before, I love to work in my shop with the overhead door open and the evening sun streaming in. And this year, I even have a tip I can share for how I keep the bugs from bugging me as I work. It is called a Thermacell … and I highly recommend it. (And no, we don’t sell it and I don’t own stock in the company.) In Minnesota, where we call the mosquito the state bird, I’ve had great success being bug-free in my shop even with all my doors open and the lights on. It comes in a few versions (I use the one that can hang on your belt), and it has not failed me yet.

This may not be a problem everyone will encounter, but if swatting a bug while you are ripping a board is something you’d like to avoid … consider the Thermacell.
