Fast and Strong: DeWalt’s Cordless Finish Nailer

With a line of four multi-volt 12/14.4 volt models, DeWalt introduces its first heavy-duty cordless finish nailers. Among them is the DC612KA, a 1 1/4″ 2 1/2″, 16-gauge straight finish nailer. A flywheel engine in this tool provides a “readiness to fire” that lets it work as fast as the end user that’s you wants to go, and also marks a new advance in cordless finish nailers among all manufacturers.

“When developing new products, our main focus is on identifying the needs of the end-user and designing innovative products that help meet their needs,” said Mike Gorman, group product manager for DeWalt. Both bump and sequential firing modes are also available, so you can select the most appropriate operation.

The DC612KA has a straight magazine with a 110-nail capacity. Other nailers in the line have angled magazines with a capacity of up to 120 nails. High capacity XRP” batteries provide 40 percent more run time than standard, and LED headlights give you visibility for your work surface. Other features include an impact-resistant metal top cap and tool-free jam clearance. Street price is $379. Check out more info on this and the other models at www.dewalt.com.
