Last Saturday, I was lucky to be part of the Grand Opening of a Rockler store in Frisco, Texas. Now, it is no secret that I am fond of woodworking — but I also like hanging out with woodworkers. I demonstrated a couple of finishing and veneering techniques, which was good, but then I spent a few hours just answering woodworking questions and comparing notes with other folks who are shop rats like myself, which was better.
Despite the fact that I was not wearing cowboy boots or sporting a 10-gallon hat, the folks in Frisco were super nice to me, and southern hospitality was well represented. And just in case you are wondering, yes … I did consume a significant amount of BBQ … chicken, ribs, brisket, pork — you get the drift.
So thanks to the folks in the Lone Star State, and congratulations to Rockler for a successful opening of another store.
