JET JWBS-14DX Pro

JET JWBS-14DX Pro

If you’re looking for substantially more resawing capacity than a typical 14-in. bandsaw can provide, but without stepping up to the sticker price of a larger machine, consider JET’s JWBS-14DX Pro. Although it was released a few years ago, it still leads the category in terms of expanded resawing capability for a stock 14-in. saw. Unlike other similarly sized saws that require a riser block kit to expand resawing beyond about 6 in., this machine features an elongated cast-iron frame that provides a full 12 in. of resawing capacity. The frame was designed specifically for increased strength and rigidity, and a high-tension spring allows for greater blade tensioning. When not in use, the saw’s blade tension can be relieved with a quick-release lever. The 1-1/4HP machine has a 15 x 15-in. cast-iron table, ball-bearing upper and lower blade guides and a rack-and-pinion blade guard for smooth adjustments. Its motor is pre-wired for 115-volt operation. Two poly-v drive belts transfer power to the blade, which can be set to cut at either 1500 or 3000 SFPM. The saw accepts a range of blades from 1/8 in. for precision scrolling work up to 3/4 in. for resawing. Its enclosed steel stand has a handy storage shelf, and a lower 4-in. dust port should help keep dust to a minimum during cutting. The JET JWBS-14DX Pro sells for $899.99. A rip fence with resawing guide is not included but can be added as an accessory.
