Makita’s new 18-volt LXT® Lithium-Ion Cordless 5″ Random Orbit Sander, model LXOB01, is an 18-volt cordless random orbit sander that will run up to 40 minutes at low speed setting, or up to 20 minutes on high speed, on a single battery charge. The three speed settings are 7,000, 9,500 and 11,00 orbits per minute. The LXOB01 has an orbit diameter of 1/8-inch and uses quick-change 5″ (8-hole) hook-and-loop abrasive paper. The LXOB01 weighs 3.6 pounds and has a through-the-pad dust collection system. It comes with two batteries, a charger, dust bag and tool bag for a suggested price of $560.
