I Vote for Woodworking

Rob-Portrait351By coincidence, today is Election Day in the U.S.A. (so go out and vote if you haven’t). Now, I am a pretty political dude in my private life (not here in the eZine. What do you care about my political convictions — not much, hey?), but even a political junkie like myself has consumed just about all I can swallow of the current TV and radio election advertising fare. So I have to say that my workshop has become my shelter in the maelstrom of current events. Woodworking is a simple effort — either your tenon fits or it does not. No gray areas, opinion or margins of error there.

For the last few weeks, I have been working on a cabinet project. It’s had its ups and downs, but all the problems I had to deal with were of my own making. So whatever the outcome of the election today, whether — from your perspective — the good guys or the bad guys won, my advice is this: head into your shop.

You’ll be happy that you did.
