Drill Press Vibration

I tried brute force and cleaning the taper with paint thinner, but the chuck falls off my new drill press with any vibration. What can I do?

Carol Reed: Clean the socket of the chuck as well, and clean off the paint thinner with lacquer thinner. Chill the chuck overnight in the refrigerator, then reinstall.
