Making a Compound Miter Saw Simple

I bought my husband a Sears compound-miter saw for his birthday. Now he wants to take it back because he really doesn’t know how to work all the gadgets on it. Are there any good books on using miter saws?

Rob Johnstone: I don’t really know of any books specifically about power miter saws, but Rick Peters in his “Woodworker’s Power Tools” published by Sterling may have just the advice your hubby needs. Starting on page 30, Rick covers the operational basics of the tool. Other than that, I’d remind your husband that gadgets are made to be mastered: just keep your fingers clear of the blade!
