Do you have the rings oppose or face each other when you align grain while laminating wood to create thicker boards?
Stephen Rosasco: Opposite; if the grain is parallel, warping is more likely.
John Swanson: I try to use an odd number of pieces so there will be no seam at the center of the finished board, and try to alternate the growth rings.
Richard Jones: I generally align the orientation of the growth rings. This way, the boards tend to move in harmony rather than in opposition.
